Basic RBD Collision Feb. 5, 2015, 2:54 a.m.

First of all, your “Moving_rock” node must be “static object” , not “RBD obj” , because the box is keyframed and should not get affected by gravity or other forces .
then dive into “Auto dop network” and choose “Moving Rock” node (which calculate now as static obj) and in parameter pane, enable “use deforming geometry” , this option recall the position of object in every frames and not just the first frame .

finally, you need to consider the “Rocks” node as “RBD fractured” , because you have lots of rocks which needs to simulate individually .

Glue issue in Houdini 14 Jan. 25, 2015, 8:49 a.m.

I have faced some strange simulation with RBD and GLUE objects , in Houdini 13 when I use glue, some pieces after hit lose their connection , but in the following file (which has been created in H14) , the pieces which have been hit by a sphere, stop simulating in air . Any idea why this happen ?

Hi,

Unfortunately I can't use the alembic export as I have the Indie version.

Managed to come up with a solution, used a Rop_geometry node plugged into the DOP_import node of the fractured geometry and wrote it out as a .bgeo file.

Then read this back in through a file node to export as a .fbx

The indie version supports alembic. I've tried, no problems.

Yes, I think all the features in indie is available, just the render resolution is different, right ?
