Houdini Non-Comm License Error - why cant i render? July 3, 2010, 4:19 p.m.
for some reason, whenever i attempt to render an image i get this error:
No licenses could be found to run this application.
Please check for a valid license server host

however, it was my understanding that the non-commercial edition of Houdini would allow me to make unlimited renders with a small watermark.
looking at the License Server info in the Admin Tools, it shows that there are 0/1 Render tokens available.
i was able to make one (1) render.
looking at my Server Information shows everything “in the green”.
i have both Houdini Mater Non-Commerical 10.0 & the Render Non-Commercial Licenses installed.
what am i missing?
would anybody have any insight into what i need to do to make multiple renders?
did i misunderstand the terms of Use of the Non-Commercial version of Houdini?

how do i create terrain with height map image? July 1, 2010, 9:56 a.m.
i have a gray scale height map PNG.
id like to be able to create terrain a la terragen using the heightmap image. i would prefer it be at the geometry level instead of baking the texture via a displacement map.
would somebody be kind enough to show me how to do that?
if a walkthrough is too much - what SOPs do i need to be looking at?
any help would be much appreciated…
