Attribute from Map behavior in Houdini 18 April 28, 2020, 2:51 a.m.
Hi all,
I recently upgraded from Houdini 17.5.293 to Houdini 18.0.416 and I'm experiencing some weird behavior with the attribute from map node. I was previously relying on this node to be able to take a low res bitmap and accurately copy the color values onto a similarly low res point grid. The values are blurred by default, but are crisp when I switch to the “point” filter method.
In Houdini 18.0.416 the point filter method on the attribute from map node produces blurred values the same as any of the other filter methods, using the exact same setup.
I'm attaching a side by side comparison between 17.5.293 and 18.0.416.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior, and/or have ideas for a workaround?
Thanks!
Tim
