In this lesson, you will learn how to create a procedural asset in Houdini then publish it for use in UE4. You will also learn how to promote parameters to build a UI for the asset which show up in the Details panel in the Unreal Editor. This lesson will help you get comfortable working back and forth between Houdini and UE4.

I follow the tutorial but when I import the digital asset in unreal 4.10 the houdini logo remains and my digital asset does not load the geometry. I downloaded the haunted staircase and it works. But I am not sure why my digital assets don't work. I am in houdini 15.5.489. I have re installed different versions of houdini to test it out but neither of them work. I am using a mac book pro.

When following this tutorial in Houdini 16.5 and Unreal 4.19 I export via Create Digital Asset ... and it gives the file an extension of .hdalc

... and when I then go to import it into Unreal I get an error ... unknown file type .hdalc

Houdine Engine is installed via the SideFX installer in D:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.19\HoudiniEngine and also in D:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.19\Engine\Plugins\Runtime
