is there a way to re-evaluate a menu script? can I trigger that?

ok, maybe not. how can I set then the menu entries with python?
the example in the manual for creating dynamic menus only works with
the “menu script”. I'm not quit sure how to use the “hou.MenuParmTemplate”
command to set the menu content.
I already checked the forum but couldn't really find what I need.
