I am using windows Vista with Toshiba sattalite 200,and GA is “Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family”

When i start Houdini 11, I get fatel error

Houdini does not support Intel graphics. You can use Microsoft's software renderer by setting the HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE enironment variable in the System dialog of the Control Panel (Advanced Settings, Environment Variables). This will give you basic OpenGL support.
please give values for variable name and variable value in the system property I have to enter thanks a lot.

HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE is the name, 1 the value.

I had houdini 9.5 Apprentice Hd ,It was work with this toshiba sattalie 200 laptop.Doyou have any solution for this.

I just want to say thank you for this solution, it fixed my ‘Fatal Error: Segmentation fault’ issue. It's too bad that I have to use Houdini with OGL, since my vid card is fairly powerful, but it's definitely better than nothing.

I've just installed the latest version of Houdini Apprentice (12.1.125) and I get the same fatal error. The program opens fine and I can navigate the menus and do different desktops, but as soon as I create something like a box or sphere, the error pops up and Houdini crashes.
I applied the fix suggested (I put in the suggested “HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE” environment variable) and it is working.
The issue I have is: Houdini was working fine on my computer before with my previous version of 12. The developer who posted the fix said that Houdini doesn't work with Intel Graphics, but I've got an ATI Radeon in my laptop. Shouldn't that be able to run it - especially if it was working with the previous version of Houdini?
Is there some other solution that I could try? because everything seems very laggy with the current solution. a simple cube is fine, but dragging out a marquee select region in the context window (even without anything in the scene) is super choppy.
