How can I export selected GEO SOPs from /obj?

Hello,

What's the best practice for exporting simple GEO SOPs in order to use them in a different Houdini scene file?

Let's say I have three GEO SOPs in /obj, e.g. a modeled chair, a lamp and a desk.

I want to use the chair (and all the stuff inside the GEO SOP, the modeling history) into a different scene. Just the Chair, not the lamp, not the desk.

Is there a simple way to save just this node and the network it includes into a separate HIP file?

I don't want to create a Digital Asset (feels like too much overhead for such a simple task).

The other problem comes with File -> Merge. Houdini loads the whole content of a different file into my new file. It was much more convenient if I could select which nodes to merge (similar to the way Import-> Merge works in 3ds max).

TRhanks for any suggestions.

I think the easiest way is to have both hip files and just copy the nodes out of one file and paste them in the other.
