Does anyone know any render houses that have Houdini licenses AND offer a student discount? In a crunch with my thesis animation and we only have so many licenses here at SVA.
Basically, you can distribute a render across several machines on the Amazon EC2 cloud.
Cheers, Rob
Thanks Rob. I saw that and it's really not terrible, but could add up pretty quickly with the amount I have to render. I'm looking at almost 12 minutes/frame on a 32 core machine for about 1400 frames. On this machine, it'll take me 280 hrs, but on 8 cores.. roughly say 1000 hours? That'll cost $2000!! I might as well invest that money into my own renderfarm.
Definitely gonna need a house with a student discount…

Which Renderfarm supports Houdini for simulation and rendering?
None. The amazon houdini cloud uses only one machine from the pool to cook your stuff. For all I know there is no publicly available farm offering full cooking/hbatch/distributed simulation.
