painting and scattering on fractured geometry

I'm trying a piece of a fractured geometry, and i want to control the fracturing of this piece with paint SOP before scatter but for some reason that's not working.

I can't make the scattered points follow the painted areas on the re-fractured piece and i was trying to find out why with no luck.

I'll attach the scene file, it's pretty basic just maybe if anyone wants to know what exactly i'm trying to do, it will certainly help.

Here is your file rewired where I just input the box into the point sop and all works fine…

I think you should just really clean up the geo after your initial fracture or for a split of just two pieces maybe use another method.
