Creation Frame Specifies Simulation Frame issue

Hi,

I keep running into this behaviour for some time now, and it's kinda annoying. The situation is the following:

I set up almost all my DOP object types to have their “Creation Frame Specifies Simulation Frame” flag turned ON and saved them as Permanent Default presets (so I don't have to remember setting the simulation start frame on each object in my DOP network – I happen to build DOPnets by hand as much as I use shelf tools).

However, if I have a dop network with a start frame different than 1, the DOP objects created by the shelf tools still set the “Creation Frame” on the object(s) they create, even if the aforementioned switch is enabled (which is an incorrect behaviour, and also have me scratching my head in confusion )

To put it a bug-reportish way: DOP shelf tools should respect the state of the “Creation Frame Specifies Simulation Frame” toggle when creating new DOP objects (and don't set Creation Frame on the object if this flag is enabled).

cheers,

i've never used the permanent default presets, i'm using the on-creation scripts for this.

when you create a node via script you could tell it that should not execute these on-creation scripts, not sure if the permanent default presets fall under the same category.

not sure however if the self should pick up the permanent defaults, … e.g. if you've on purpose/accidentally set some weird numbers in one of the solvers in dops as defaults, the shelf-build simulations will have weird behaviours.

that i guess it comes down to personal preference
