I'm just wondering if anybody gets this at geometry level I can't use any of the selection methods apart from clicking and when I want to select a group of faces for example I have to click 1 by 1. At scene level works fine.

If you're using AMD graphics then you need to update to at least 12.5.383 to get a fix that works around an AMD driver bug.
