Hi,
Recently I had to work with a Krakatoa PRT exporter ROP ( https://github.com/FictionIO/PRTRop [github.com] – works like a charm, btw ) and I was thinking of adding a few trivial improvements to it.
I have, khm, enough plug-in development experience (not with the HDK though – one of the reasons of my switching to Houdini was to concentrate on computer graphics instead of coding ) so it's not an unfamiliar territory.
The PRTRop is missing an “Initialize Simulation OPs” switch, so that's one thing I'm going to add. The other would be a “Save in Background” feature – unless it involves extensive programming.
So my question is: does the HDK have any convenience function for this specific function in ROPs, or would I have to “figure it out on my own” from the various HDK components? (Although this would make things more effective, it's definitely not a showstopper, so I might skip this if it involves much coding/testing turnarounds.)
cheers,
imre
