importing motionbuilder fbx

Hi there!

first post here, just evaluating houdini from a bit of an archviz perspective.

I am trying to import some rigged axyz characters originally made for motionbuilder. they are in fbx format.

the import works ok, but i do get a lot of “invalid range specification” warnings in the console. I did search quite a bit and figured these are eventually safe to ignore;

however my problem is that after import, the rig is differently scaled than the actual mesh geometry and it is in a wrong location.
I measured and it seems the mesh is in the right scale (meters!?)



now i am still pretty fresh inside houdini, so I only managed to scale the mesh up to the size of the rig. the factor was approx x39.
1/39=0.0256 very close to cm inch conversion.

is it possible something is wrong here, or do I miss some basics in order to have the two align perfectly on import?
