Hi,

Houdini looks awesome, but after going over the beginner training–
im still unable to texture, or render anything!

is there a simple - get started - texturing tutorial?

Lighting would be a help too.

thanks!

Correction, I found something older the other day. But the first node, he tabbed to texture with - DOESN'T EVEN exist in Houdini 14!

So for 14, please.

thanks!

Main change is that the VOP SOP have become Attribute VOP, thats where i was a bit baffled in the beginning.

Also if you see the sticky in the learning forum https://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&t=27035 [sidefx.com]
I am just learning Houdini my self right now, but seems everything from H12 and up i still quite relevant.

Thanks much øyvind Fiksdal.

That's a huge help.

Hopefully that database is up to date? Unfortunately the first search I tried , I found:

INTRO TO RENDERING . Unfortunately- the link appears dead:

You should check Rohan Dalvi tutorials:

- http://www.rohandalvi.net/commercial/ [rohandalvi.net]
- http://www.rohandalvi.net/shader/ [rohandalvi.net]
- http://www.rohandalvi.net/textures/ [rohandalvi.net]

They are not free but are really good.

Thanks mantragora. Yes, I saw those the other day, but they looked
a bit over my head. Next stop I hope!
