Hey I was doing a tutorial emitting particles from an object, according to sufrace luminance.
Problem is it references birth probabilty - which seems to have dissappeared or moved in H14.
Any pointers - is it done a different way now?

Thanks

What's Houdini version on this Tutorial ? Because Particle System in Houdini 13 changed , if you wanna use old particle system , you should use Old-POP Network , then you have Birth Probability parameter in the Source POP node !

Yes, I was just wondering what the equivalent “modern” method was…

That's sounds good , Also If you wanna generate some particles from a geometry based on it's luminance (from Texture) , you can use Scatter SOP for generating points on the geometry , then use POP Network for generating particles from these points

In this case you can generate particles based on luminance for both Old and New POP Network directly 8)
