Hi i am a new user of Houdini and have been following the Side effects tutorials for the last weeks. But today my Houdini started acting weird, in the tab-search menu most nodes cant be found. For example the Mountain, UV texture and polyextrude doesn't appear when i search for them.
They can be found in the shelf but when i drag them into my network Houdini crashes after a couple of seconds.
Some nodes appear in the tab-search, like box and sphere. They also seem to work when i put them in my network.

I have tried reinstalling Houdini, deleting my preferences and updated my graphics card (Nvidia GTX 660) but the problem persists.

Any ideas whats happening and what i can do?

About crashing , you have two choice :
1. Updating VGA driver (that you did it !)
2. Install latest Houdini daily build

If your Houdini will craching again , check it's crashing log file in the Temp for finding your problem , Also you can submit this BUG to Support team in the :

About disappearing nodes , it doesn't usually happen !

the only situations that some of the nodes are not accessible are :

1. your Houdini version is not FX , it's Houdini Escape , in this case you don't have Dynamics nodes and features such as PyroFX

2. You press Tab in wrong network for searching items , for example Mountain node is a SOP node , so it's doesn't accessible in Object level (obj network) , But Box or Sphere are accessible in both SOP Level (Geometry Network) and Object Level

3. for some reason your nodes are hidden , in this case you can find your hidden nodes with ophide command and unhidden them with opunhide command (check Houdini's Document)
