Hi there!

I´m having some troubles using Houdini 15 and windows 10 and I´m hoping if somebody could help me solve it.

I´ve just bought a new pc (with Windows 10), install Houdini 15. At first it looks everything works fine, but when I do a simulation it does it really slowly! (x5 times slower than my old laptop, when it should be the other way round). I´ve being doing some internet research and I couldn´t find anything useful.

Do you know if there is some issue between houdini 15 and windows 10 that could create this weird behaviour?

Maybe there is some windows programme blocking Houdini´s performance? I´m running out of ideas!

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Just run the performance monitor on both platforms and post the results here.

Ah, sorry I should have mentioned under the Window menu in Houdini there is the ‘Performance Monitor’. Can you run that on both machines with the exact same file please and post the results.

Also, what is the CPUs on the old one?

Thanks!

whoa! Win10 is killing the pin constraints. You should upload the .hip file here so others can test their systems, and/or, send a bug report into SideFx, in the Support menu above.

I´ve solved it (or to be more accurate, it solved itself!)

For the third time I´ve copied the files and reinstalled Houdini 15, and now it seemed to work fine. I guess it was a problem with the .hip file that got corrupted…

By the way, thanks MartybNz for your help! I´ve really appreciated.
