is there a way in our universe to install houdini(apprentice licence) 15.5.480 on ubuntu 16.10 and see something in rendering window except black pixels?

I have installed new ubuntu 16.10, after it downloaded last houdini production build and installed with apprentice license. when i press render button i see only black window. what could be wrong? maybe i need another linux distributive?

the problem was system settings - language support - regional formats and language NOT english. thats why rendering was dead.
