Hi guys,

I have been modeling a robot in Houdini, then rendered with Mantra and editing in Nuke. Does it looks good or bad? I was following a tutorial from 3dtotal by Riccardo Zima (a huge thumb up for his tutorial: https://www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/1643-making-of-the-orange-lightwave-by-riccardo-zema-character-robot-orange [3dtotal.com] !). I converted his techniques into Houdini.

Cheers!

Atle

Cool!
my one observation would be that for large flat surfaces like his body etc you don't need nearly that much geometry. Looking at the original tutorial his geometry resolution is fairly low.

Thanks for your comment. I also think it have much more geometry than needed. Will work on it :-)

The uncommon constancy of opinion of the work of other is an exercise that we should adopt as a practice to improve even those who think about this or that diferently, obviously cgi, mg mg mg !

This is very good model and render!
i like it very much. Please make more.
can you make some animations?

Thank you Chevita!

At the moment I “only” got my focus on modeling techniques, but animations is definitely an area I'll try to practise more in future.
