I just start to learn Houdini
(((and sorry about my bad English)))

I can see my tutorial is old version of Houdini so Interface is seems little different with my interface.

I was struggle with the Mountain interface I can't add Fractal Depth at the Edit Parameter Interace Window.

So I turn on the exercise files of my tutorial. and I can see this file has same mountain node just like in tutorials.
and it's open in my version of Houdini.

but can't understand my mountain node is still different.

so, I compared with Help window. and it was different version of mountain - mountain2.0

finally I find the problem! but I can't solve the opereate just mountain version.

How can I opereate this?

oh I solved my self.

Right click my mountain2.0 node than select the “Change Operator Type”

and find the Mountain at the Operator category and done!

I ran into the same issue. Thanks for the answer. In Houdini 16.5 you must right-click the node and select Actions > Change Type… This brings up a dialog box in which you must click on Node Type and then select the second Mountain node in the pop-up list.

The “Max Octaves” parameter in the new Mountain SOP is similar to the “Fractal Depth” parameter in the old Mountain SOP. Is there something else you're using the old Mountain SOP for?
Writing code for fun and profit since... 2005? Wow, I'm getting old.
