Why are the help balloons in Houdini not scrollable. It looks like right now vertical size of the balloon is determined by the lenghth of the text that is being displayed in the balloon. Because of that, when the help text is too long, vertical resolution of the balloon is being extended far beyond the border of the screen. This makes presence of the balloons to some extent useless, since you can only read part of the help info and usually it's the second part.

Hey Stremik,

The problem will be gone in Houdini 6.0 but in the meantime, may I know what is the display resolution you are using? Also, which graphics card & OS?

Alternatively, you can use ophelp in the textport:

ophelp operator_type

/obj -> help ophelp
ophelp
Usage: ophelp

Display help for an operator or for an operator type.
“operator type” is of the form <class>/<type>
For example, “ophelp sop/add” will display the help for
add sops. “ophelp /obj/geo1” will display the help
for the geo objects since /obj/geo1 is a geo object.
Available operator classes are:
sop - surface operators
obj - objects
pop - particles
mat - shaders
top - texture operators
cop - old composite operators
cop2 - new composite operators
out - drivers

I hope the above helps!

Cheers!

Personally, I right-click on the tile and choose Properties… and then flip to the Help tab to view help.
