Hi, I'm kind of new to houdini and want to create a point group but would find it easier to select my points by hand rather than using ranges, expressions, etc. Anyone know the commands to do this. I'm sure it's quite easy too. Thanks.

Hi,

I would recommend you go through the Quick Reference and Tutorials of the Online Help ( Help menu > Help Contents) to learn more about Houdini's interface.

A quick guide:

a. Set the display flag on the SOP you want
b. Move your mouse to the viewport and type ‘s’ to get into Select mode
c. Type ‘1’ to select Points and select the points you want
d. Once done selecting, hit ‘Tab’ and select the Group SOP
e. Finally, right click to complete and a Group SOP will be appended to the displayed SOP.

Hope the above helps to get you going. However, please don't hesitate to ask if you're stuck or have problems.

Cheers!
