Is there a way to add attributes from a renderman shader in order to animate specified parameters. I have tried with the various attribute sops without any luck. Any help or suggestions would be great :!:

well it is as easy as bringing in your shader from slim and once you find it in the generators tab you can just simple animate the shader in the parameters tab. Simple Simple Simple!

Hi,

If I remembered correctly, a lot of your slim-generated shader (I mean, building your network and such) are being hard coded when you output them, aren't they…? It's been over a year now since I used Slim now, so I could be wrong.

Hi there,

rmands is what you're looking for:
> rmands
Usage: csoftware/hfs5.5.266/bin/rmands file1.via [fi
le1.slo…]
-d destination directory
-D destination directory (puts script in this directory rather
than a sub-directory as with the -d option).
-i Run using soinfo (for RenderDotC)
-e Run using sletell (for Entropy)
-p Run using sloinfo (for prman)
-old generate old style dialog scripts (pre-shop)
-g specify maximum size per parameter page. The shader
parameters will be split into multiple pages if there are
too many parameters in the shader.

Example: rmands -g 8 -d $HOME/houdini5.5/shop *.slo

WARNING: This program will remove existing .ds files

Happy animating!!!

Cheers!
