Hi Folks,
I've been rendering my ocean extended using mantra. I'm now using the Arnold plugin. I've followed the ocean masterclass tut where John talks about baking UV attribute texture from the ocean evaluate and placing that displacement onto the geo file using Arnold VOP. I did that and it works great but it only places displacement on the flip tank part of the geometry. The rest of the extruded geometry is still flat just like how it looks out of the particle fluid surface 1. Also I can't figure out how to get the rest of the tank for the light reflections and refractions in the water of the tank.
I've searched the internet, emailed a number of people, and posted in different forums and not many people care to help or answer others on here. A couple well known guys that do lots of tuts online know how to do it but they won't tell me.
Does anyone know any way to do this?

are you using houdini 17.5 or 18 ? can you post screenshot of your shader network ?
Arnold GPU is in “Alpha state” and completly based on Optix, with has already a lot limitation from nvidia site. also Arnold GPU comes with a lot of limitation :

also houdini18 has lots of heavy changes with lops/rendering etc.. and it breaks stuff. which daily build are you using ?
try first to get it to work with Arnold CPU, so you know if your setup is working, before you try it with a “beta” software.
