How to edit information of an exsisting foliage system in UE

Has anyone dealed with any requirements like this?

For example, now I have a nice placed forest made by level artist, what I need is that first fetch all the trees in this foliage system and send to houdini by engine for sure,after processing in Houdini, is there any way to fetch the updated foliage information,let's say like vertex color, back to Unreal Engine and apply it into that original foliage system somehow?
