I created a costume vel field, but I can only advect pops, not voxels.
I can art direct Pop sims but not pyro sims.
The Gas Advect node and its documentation is confusing me.

The only solution which I will go with for now is to create a pyro sim to advect a pop sim to then convert it to VDB from points.
Sudo Pyro sim, with extra steps.

Wondering if there is a way to do this directly instead of doing multiple steps.

I saw there's a Vortex field in the Houdini Sexy Pyro presentation, I'll try that tonight, for now, I'm going to leave the pyro siming.

Thank you!

You can definitely use your vel field in the pyro sim, just add it as a source.

I think you had the right idea using it in pull mode, feel free to share your scene if you'd like us to have a look.

Today I figured it out!
The way is to animate different smoke is to Add points and animate them!
Turn them into polywire and make it into a mesh that emits smoke and you can fill in stuff that way!
