Hey everyone!

A colleague of mine asked me if i knew a way of replicating this in Houdini.

And I was curious if anyone of you ever attempted this type of blending with Houdini and Arnold?

Any ideas would be awesome and appreciated

Thank you

Hey sly,

it's quite simple. You attribute transfer the normals from the ground to the stone with a falloff. The materials can be blended with a mask created by a Distance from Geometry node. Take a look at the file. Its the start but I hope you get the idea.

Hi, I'm the colleague in question, I was already able to do this but I was thinking more of a solution at render time(in shading) that would not involve specifying which mesh to source from.
