Hi,
this is the first time I've had a major update for Houdini. I was just wondering if there is a quick way to import everything from 20.5 to 21. I have loads of recipes, presets, desktops, extra libraries(AE Lib, QL Lib etc) that I use in 20.5.
It will be quite time consuming to manually dig through preferences, env, packages etc. Is there a quicker method that I'm not aware of ?
Thanks.
Import Recipes. presets, desktops etc from 20.5 to 21

Not sure, but I don't think so.
This is what i do: Copy over the packages, toolbar and desktop folders from the old houdini prefs folder to the new one. Also the houdini.env file for some custom set env Vars. Custom Shortcuts are in Houdini.keymap2.overrides. This should get you 90% there. Recipes are stored in an HDA within the otls folder if you need that too (Recipes.hda). Hope that helps
C:\Users\USER\Documents\houdini20.5
C:\Users\USER\Documents\houdini21.0
or on Linux:
/home/user/houdini20.5
/home/user/houdini21.0

thanks for that - got everything copied across except legacy presets - I have a quite a few of them.
I found those in a folder of the Houdini 20.5 preferences directory called presets. Just in case anyone else needs to get them.
Thanks again.

FedorK_FXHi,
Be careful with HDA libraries between major Houdini versions, not all of them will work without an update from the library creator.
thanks for the heads up, from very little testing, mops, AELib and QLib all appear to work ok.
EDIT: Also LVTools and Danny Laursen's FLOPs seem ok.
