Simple Curve Rig with KineFX?

Hello,

i wanted to build a simple rig for a curve but struggled with the correct setup in KineFX. Basically I just want to have a curve with ~10 vertices that could be bent naturally with a controller on the last point. So ptnum 0 should stay in place (can rotate to compensate the rig) and the last point drives the IK chain. I can somewhat get it to work with a three point curve (that I resample later) but I don't get how to set this up with a finer sampled curve to get a smooth rig. Here are some pictures of what I have, what I want to get and a simple hip.

There is a good video by Brundlethwaite (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbX0IF6c1qo), but it is 5 years old and I wonder if this task can be achieved in a much simpler way (and with the newly developed rigging tools).

I'd be grateful for any tips. Some other user pointed me to Apex, but I don't get it.

Hi, I have included two setups.
1- A spline setup using a rigvop
2- Apex using a fuse graph for the sin and cos expression.

Hi William,

thanks for that file! Unfortunately we are still on H21 so Apex from your setup throws errors and I'll check it out as soon as we switch to the new version. But the RigVOP setup is very helpful and highly appreciated. Cheers!
