I just downloaded Houdini Apprentice for windows a little while ago, it installed successfully and worked great. I prefer to work on linux (cause its better) but I am unable to “connect to license server”. I tried editing the location of the server but still get the same error. Any suggestions?

hi - is the license server running? maybe not by default - try:

/etc/init.d/sesinetd start (run as root or with sudo)

Perhaps you haven't installed the license server. Run the install again and keep everything defaulted.
Then of course you need to “source houdini-setup-bash”
“gravity is not a force, it is a boundary layer”
“everything is coincident”
“Love; the state of suspended anticipation.”

Hi guys,

How do you get the license server to run automatically and not start it each time?

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10
