Hey has anyone worked on a hip file created by Boujou 4.1 (while exporting the camera solve) in Houdini 9.5??
The export options in Boujou4.1 show hip files of version 4.1
I tried working with the Houdini 4.1 file that boujou exported but when i open the scene file it gives a whole bunch of errors like
skipping unrecognized parameter….
any way out??
I personally prefer Boujou over other tracking apps so I would really like to get a way around this issue..
any help is appreciated
thanks.

I've used the Boujou camera to great effect. I dont remember getting errors though. I think that's because we output to Maya and then either transfered it from Maya using COPs or we FBXed it. Either worked great. If you can do that, then that should get rid of the errors.
As for errors, see if it works. if it's fine then just ignore the errors.

Just by way of explaining the reason for the errors, although you likely figured this out already.
Boujou is probably using a hip description based on an older version of houdini, Sidefx has moved on and there have been changes to how parameters are described and/or some may have been deprecated.
As an aside Houdini is quite unique in software land in that it is the only complex application, that I know of, where I can open a 12 year old hip file and be reasonably sure it will indeed open and be useful, at least as far as containing a readable sop, etc. network.

I think there's some confusion here about 4.1. The latest Boujou is v4.1 - I doubt that has anything to do with Houdini versions.
The cmd file Boujou outputs is probably more or less compatible with Houdini now, I suppose it's possible something might need editing here or there, but it is a text file.
I've had no experience with it, mind you, just reacting to the 4.1 comments.
Cheers,
J.C.

the file from boujou is working great (except for the skipping parameters msg) but has one issue..
the file has 3 nodes. one for camera and 2 others for nulls.
the problem is when i enter the node which has the nulls, it has no data in it..
it just has a merge node in it and no data or parameters….
here's a hip file for the same..
any suggestion or tip is appreciated
cheers
Edit: i'm curious if I were to try to parent some objects to the null or vice versa in the hip file created by Boujou, then how could i do that??
