hi i am a student in the uk currently at college. i am in my last year and am lookin to go to university. i am advised that it is good to create a portfolio but dont know where to start what to include can anyone help at all

I am not entirely clear on your question as Canada and Britain likely have different names for these things, however, here's a thought:

If you are asking what to include in an art portfolio, to attend an art school perhaps a place to start would be contacting the department you are interested in and meeting with a counselor to find out what they require/expect. Often the school will have a web page with “Submissions Guidlines” for you to follow, it is advisable to do so. You may also want to focus on your strenghts and interests(3D, photography, drawing etc…) and include relevant works.
