i've been struggling with making the flames smaller.

i've experimented with octaves and frequency, and lastly with vox count, but have had no success.

in this pic you see a render of an UPrez simuliated at 250 voxels.

if the box that the letters are on were an 8 foot tall building, and the letters aprox 4 feet high, i would like to see 4 inch flame tongues.

here is a link to the project file zipped.
http://www.moondeer.net/pub/sidefx/uploadproj.zip [moondeer.net] (aprox 33MB)

i've included a cached out uprez and lowrez bgeo, the hip file, the light cache and a 32bit high dynamic render of frame 24. also the jpeg it is intended to be composited with.

any tips in making the flames smaller would be appreciated.

I don't have time to look over your file just now, but if you look at the pyro solver, and move to the simulation tab, you can adjust the buoyancy amount to adjust the flame length. Also on the same tab, there is a sub-tab for diffusion. Diffusion controls how fast the heat dissipates, hence also helping to control flame size.

There are a few attributes that help towards this, so its a case of trial and error, change a few values and see what works for you. Just change a value at a time and see what changes are made by that adjustment.
