Combining two nurbs surfaces, is it possible?

You need to be aware of the uv domain of your surfaces and their direction. The stitch is pretty straightforward provided you know the above. I've attached a real simple example.
You need to remember to turn on the stitching, with the toggle near the bottom of the parameters, and if you wish to control the tangent of the join then turn that on as well.
For controlling the uv domain the Primitive sop is very handy.
