My name is Alex, this is my first post

I'm currently learning Houdini using the free learning version, and it seems like the FileDop node does't want to write .sim files
Is that one of the limitations of this version? Is it possible to use it to read .sim files?

FileDOP nodes work fine in apprentice edition. Make sure the node is set to either write or read (dont forget to press play to start the cache to disk). You can use auto and its smart enough to write only whats needed and read the rest, but I prefer to use a node for writing and a seperate node for reading.

I got it to work…I must have been doing something wrong with the $SF syntax
