Hi.
Is it possible to bake out instanced particles and export them back into maya for rendering ?
I have a particle sim with instanced geometry that I want to bake the animation and then take into maya.
Possible ?
Thanks
Eugene

Anything is possible.
Are you trying to get the particles or the instances?
If using the particles you may want to look here [forums.odforce.net].
If using the geometry, you could try FBX

You can give the FBX exporter a try.
Or if that doesn't work and your geometry isn't deforming, you could export out the geometry as objs and export out the animation for each piece and reassign it inside of Maya, but that would require a bit of scripting, but it's definitely do able(had to do it before).
