Hi :

I have two skinned grid objects merged into one in geometry level.
I tried to assign different material for each obj and tried to import two different jpeg files of painted UV. But, I can not assign two different materials for each grid object and can not assign two different jpeg file of painted UV for the two obj merged into one in sop level. Material only can be applied to two separate objs as one in geometry level.
Can any one help me ?

Use Material node inside of your geometry network.

Yes, I did already.
It's not working.
When I asign a texture it applies to both objects.
Also the UV texture i painted in Illustrator does not match ( color or shape)
to the actual object in houdini.

Can you further help me?

Apply texture corrd & material to each shape before merging them together.

Sorry …. texture coordinates.

For each piece of geometry apply texture coordinates. One way is to use a UVTexture SOP. Then feed this into the input of a material SOP. Remember to do this for both pieces of geometry then merge them together.

I still have problems.
I fed UVTexture SOP before the material sop.
But, the UV image i painted in Illustrator is not fit nor matching to the 3 D shape in Houdini. And it doesnt stick to the 3 d shape. So when the 3 d shape rotate the imported UV Texture image doesnt move together with the 3 D shape.

Can you further help me ?

Make sure your uv coords are applied before any transformations. Your not projecting from a camera inside the uv textureSOP are you?

I moved texture sop to right after UVProject node and right before transformation. but, the painted texture image still doesn't fit right to the 3 d shape. I tweeked around in UV cords (texture sop) such as angles, scale, offset. and aply to point texture and select Y axis, texture type as Orthographic. It looks almost fit but, still off a little bit. Please help me further. Thank you.
