Hi,
I am running:
Houdini Apprentice 5.5.151
Windows XP Professional
512MB RAM
GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB
Intel Pentium4 2.4GHz
BUT the GUI referesh is excrutiatingly slow, it redraws the menu icons one at a time when you move your mouse over them.
I remember when using Houdini 3.1 on WindowsNT, there is some option for tweaking the overlay stuff. Is it the same situation here?
I'd like to reacquaint myself with Houdini after a long absence but the sluggish GUI is making it difficult for me to make progress. The interesting thing is that the 3D window is really fast and snappy.
Cheers

Hi Nicholas,
It's the Nvidia drivers. Get new ones ) You can try turning off overlays, but that's unlikely to do much. It's in an environment variable, in a command-line prompt run “hconfig -h” and that'll show you everything you can set.
Cheers,
