Hi i've just started looking into Houdini and have been playing around with chops thanks to Peter Quints videos on vimeo.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of how to create more random movement from audio triggers, such as a sphere heading in one direction and then switching on a beat and then again on the next beat etc.

Similar to this video by Vincent Houzé at around 13secs.

Any advice would be great.

You can use a Noise CHOP to generate random values, and then when a trigger is hit, sample the noise curve. This will give you some random values to use to form a direction vector, speed, etc.

Thanks for the reply, i was actually going to import some audio via the file node and then use this through the pass filter or pitch etc.

How would i get a direction or speed etc? would it need to be a particle as opposed to standard geometry?

Thanks again
