I think so.
I wanted to fill multiple fields with same values as if I worked with any spreadsheet.
It seems impossible.

In Parameter Editor,
if you fill each component of the radius parameter of a sphere node with same values, how do you do it?
Value Ladder by MMB drag on the parameter is one of the ways.
However,I want to type numbers without Value Ladder.
My way is to type a value in x component and copy it and press tab-key,Ctrl-v in y component and then again press tab-key,Ctrl-v in z component.
Umm,bothers me.
Is this a general way?

Hello!
As I write expressions in the node,I often check the node's help document.
I want to know all node-specific local variables and attribute's ones in the
node without seeing documents.
Do you know the way to check them quickly?

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Export ONLY Depth channel without C channel

Thank you for your advice.
Good idea 8)
This seems to be the only way.
I tried to manage to remove C channel regardless of the need.
As rendering a bunch of frames, vain black images are generated

I want to export ONLY Depth channel to a file.
But when rendering mantra node,`C`channel is always exported with Depth channel.
Now I want ONLY the depth information.
So I want houdini not to calculate channels such as diffuse, reflect so on to speed up rendering.
Is there any way to do it?

Ah,make sense.
I noticed Houdini Apprentice Edition limits 3D View Port resolution when using Render Region as well as R

Uh-huh.
I can feel the meaning somehow.
But My camera setting is for a low resolution such as SD.
I'm not sure this is due to the limited resolution.

Hi,Sir.
Does anyone who uses Houdini Apprentice Edition meet the problem as attatched this images?
The position of “Render Region” seems to be shifted
In Houdini FX Commercial Edition, this problem never happens.
I guess ONLY Houdini Apprentice Edition causes this problem.
Could you teach me some workaround?

Hi,Sir.
Now I've gotten a trouble that I can't do the “Box Zoom” in the viewport.
How can I do the Box Zoom using Houdini13?
As described in the documentation,I dragged Left mouse pressing Ctrl+Alt in the viewport.
I sure I can do it in the network view.
When I do it in the viewport,Houdini shows “No valid construction plane or primitive target to zoom on”.
Can you do it well?
Please teach me the way.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » a value returned by random expression

In summary, the range of HScript rand() is 0<=n<1.
But Houdini Spread Sheet shows the value as a single precision float.
This thread was so meaningful for me.
Thank u ,sir

It means I doubt the spread sheet values don't express complete exact precision.
It's a good idea to use 16bit float for rand() function.
But I have something on my mind for the behavior.

You bet the conversion between binary and decimal number might generate an error.
Longer the decimal point is,less accuracy the result is.
16bit float can express only short-wide range.
So I can almost believe the truth of the spread sheet as for 16bit.
But as for 32bit or 64bit,I can't believe it at all.
The spread sheet doesn't support 32/64bit?
Mathematically the conversion of “1.0” from decimal to binary should not generate an error.Cuz both types can express “1.0” accurately.
My head is crashed out

Actually “1.0” values in the spread sheet seem not to be the same with real 1.0
some expressions such as if($jk==1.0,a,b) doesn't work well.
So, the hypothesis of 0<=n<1 is possible.
I guest the values in the spread sheet are automatically rounded.
Now I'm looking for the precision adjustment but couldn't find where.

Thanks for your replies
But just so import for me to know that the value may include zero or one.
Cuz I often use int( rand(seed)*number ) and then judge the value by if().
If the range were 0<n<1, int(n) will be just 1.
if 0<=n<=1 or 0<n<=1,it will be 0 or 1.
So whether including 0 or 1 is very important to use conditional rules.
The random function of Python is 0<=n<1.
But I couldn't look it up about HScript.
