You forgot to specify “DOP node” in Dop import field node, i.e. “/obj/sphere_object1/dopnet1/smokeobject1”.
If you don't put anything there dopimport field node will not import anything from dopnet, it has to know what you want to bring back from dops.

Hello,
I've been learning voronoi fracture for a couple weeks now. Didn't have much problems with SOPs fracture but I couldn't figure out how would I texture the inside groups with the DOPs fracture.
Is there any tutorials out there that I should look at, or can anyone enlighten me please?

Hey Boon,
So in DOP's fracturing what you can do to get inside and outside group is:-
1- Go inside your dopnetwork.
2- Select your RBD Solver and right click Allow editing of contents.
3- Go inside the solver, and do the same with “voronoifracturesolver1” node.
4-Inside “voronoifracturesolver1” go inside “fracture_SOP_Solver”.
5-And finally inside that find the voronoi fracture node, than you can turn on your interior and exterior groups(same as in SOP's).

I just finished baking simulation for the building demolition in houdini. Now I was just wondering how do I export all my simulation on the building for each and every piece so that I can use that and transfer all the animation on the actual textured geometry.?
I tried exporting the geo as Alembic file but it came in as a whole geometry and not single pieces.
HeY Advait,
Just export alembic from Houdini and bring that alembic cache in maya, and in Maya select the mesh go to polygon tab under “Mesh” click separate, by that way you can get each separate chunks of building.

Thank you for the response.
I checked your hip file, but I think it is still hanging in the normal direction.
It is slightly better, but I can still see that is is slightly(really tiny) stretching, also the top wire and side wires are not relaxed all the way.
The blue line position is what I want.
The grey line is what I get in the last frame from your hip flie, and blue line is what I want.
I might simulate this few more time using same method you suggested to achieve the look I want, but then it will be still stretched (accumulated through the simulations). Also I have longer and much more wires for my final scene, so I would like to know if there's any simple and faster way…

If that's the case than I seriously don't know how to make it look like what you want. Yeah that's true that wire solver is always been a pain,……And even I didn't knew too much about wire so sorry about that……

Thanks for the wonderful example!
Jus't a small thing, in the Getting Started tutorial “quickstart” he doesn't do anything to the nodes when he makes them breakable, they seem to be in default stage and the pillars doesn't break until the ball hit's them.
When I do as in the tutorial it's totally different, they break immediately.
So is there something different in the current version of the software than when the tutorial was made or?

Hello, I have a slight problem. When I make an object that is standing on an groundplane to “MakeBreakable” it shatters instantly. How Can I make it so that it doesn't shatter instantly from only standing on the ground plane?

So here you can do couple of things you can activate your object only when some other object hits it or you can increase the minimum and maximum impacts in the fracture parm node……

I have tested and tweaking the parameters to have the look that I want.
Then I figure the higher value of Angular Spring Constant parameter makes my wire not stretchy, but then it kinda holds my wire in the normal direction.
I want to have the wire relaxed (not floating in the air in normal direction).
If I lower the value of the Angular Spring Constant, it relaxes my wire, but makes the wire stretched…
How can I achieve the look that I want having the wire not stretched at all (=not even a bit)?
I appreciate your help!

How about this?
So what I did is I used the frame 200 or something from your simulation where each curve settles down than I used that frame as rest and initial pose and start the simulation again and it works…….

Hey tex1820,
So after looking at your file I got to knw that you have a Cd attribute in your cache, which I think you really dont want after you cached, so I deleted the Cd attribute and everything is fine…It seems like the Cd attribute is overwriting your texture map……

Just try switching your 3d view port from edit> preferences from GL 2.1 to Gl 3.2 or H11…….

it's quite easy, just turn the box on creation into a polygon mesh and give it some more axis subdivisions, that way the cookie SOP is less likely apt to fail. Then you can revert your fuse SOP distance threshold back to defaults and the Voronoi works just fine.

The problem in your file is that the cookie sop leaves a non connected polygon that you see at the top.
I wouldn't know how to prevent the cookie sop from doing this but just blasting that single primitive out of the way does the trick.

Oh yeah it absolutely helps thanks, but still I am trying to figure out how to make cookie SOP work so that it does'nt create these face or edges that gives problem . It always give these kind of problems, may be lets wait for other people reply may be someone know a cool trick……

Hey people I am trying to smash a part of building with some object which is falling down frm sky so I used cookie SOP to extract the selected portion which I wanted to break and than I used Voronoi fracture points to scatter point around it but when I am connecting voronoi fracture points to Voronoi fracture than I am getting some pieces on the top of my extracted geo which are jst flat I mean there is no depth no extrusion on those pieces and I am not able to figure it out ………So have a look at it and please let me knw whats wrong I am doing…….
