Hello all,
I need you're help again into this question for new GPU.
Should I take this ones : AMD 7750 or a Nvidia 650/550 Ti, or a quadro 2000 ?
This GPU will take place into a HP Z400.
Thanks, it's realy uncool to choose a GPU in regards of differences between softwares
Edit :
I've find a lot of indormations into this forum and others, but nothing that clearly give me an answer
I think the choice would be made between an Nvidia 650/550 Ti and a Nvidia Quadro 2000, but between this two, witch one wokrs better with Houdini and Maya ?
Thanks for your answers it's a bit urgent.
Edit 2 :
Okay, some of you may think I'm a bit sick for comparing GT 650 and quaddro 2000, but the choice is in fact between a brand new GT 650 or a used Quadro 2000, witch could be find around the price of a brand new GT 650.
For simulations GT 650 may be a bit better, but in general maybe the Quadro is a better choice.
Any idea ?

Hi all !
I'm gonna buy a new PC and I wanna know if this type of video card is good for Houdini or not : XFX ATI HD5450 (1Go DDR3).
Does someone allready have this type of video card and had problems with it ? I know that ATI is known for their bug / bad-compatibility with a lot of things so I prefer asking before buying.
Thanks All.

Thanks all for your responses.
zarti -> yes this is the way I've find to do what I want
In fact, this is the result I have in Maya
Base width my cube
And if I click on 3
Juste by switching 1 or 3 I can view the smooth / normal version of my object. This is what I ask for into Houdini (if it exists), or maybe your solution is the only one to do this ?
EDIT : after some new tests I thinks this is the best way to do this, I'm just so noob

Thanks for your response.
Yes I've tried, but that's not what I'm searching for. I just would like to view the result smoothed with a limited number of polys and have the possibility to smooth/desmooth quickly.
Modifications is difficult with a lot of subdivisions :-/
But maybe I'm not using functions correctly ?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Houdini (and in 3D in general), and I dont find how to make smooth/not smooth quikly like in Maya.
I've tried the Smooth function but it's not so simple and results are quite… stange oO
But… Houdini rocks
