Hi friends!
I use the PyXML modules from Houdini.
When I parse a XML file, it returns a data structure with nodes but it include a nodes with “\n”, “\t”, etc….
Does the parser have a system for delete this nodes or similar?
Thaaaaankss!!!!

mmm Ok.
But, I have searched in the houdini interface, and I have discovered that I can create Nodes with textures in the “/shop” place, and link this nodes with nodes from “/obj”. I don't know if this is correct. Can I create this “/shop” nodes with python?
My problem is that I need create a geometry only using python code.
Thanks for all and sorry for my english ;P

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Python -> Change parameters in green

Hi friends!
I need change, for example, the params of DELETE named “Start / End”.
For change a Start parm I use:
myDelete.parm('rangestart').set(1)
but, for change de End parm, I use the same code:
myDelete.parm('rangeend').set(4)
and it doesn't run.
In the Houdini interface, this parm is printed in green, and show “$N”. It is important?
Thanks for all!
Ferran.

Hi friends!
I create a little functions for view a parameters of nodes:
def api(node):
g = hou.node('/obj').createNode('geo')
n = g.createNode(node)
print n.parms()
g.destroy()
def api2(node, param):
g = hou.node('/obj').createNode('geo')
n = g.createNode(node)
print n.parm(param).parmTemplate()
g.destroy()
in python shell:
import myfilefuntions
myfilefunctions.api('')
myfilefunctions.api2('', '')
It is somethings stupid, but for working is good! XD
Thanks!

Dear friends,
I'm trying to set the parameter called “operation” in a “delete” node to “delete non-selected”. I created the node with
mydelete = parent.createNode('delete')
and deleted the file node. Now, I want to set that parameter, but I don't have the faintest idea about what to pass to
mydelete.parm('operation').set(…)
or anything like that!
Thanks in advance!!

Hi!
I have a problem with python “createNode()” function.
For create a box, for example, I write: “ box = geo.createNode('box')”. But I don't have a list of parameters for create another nodes (Extrude, Lsystem, tube…..).
Does some list of parameters exist for this function? In the tutorials it is not exist.
Thank you very much!

Hi!
I make a python modules with external editor, and import this modules with “import my_module”. I have a problem when I modify the file *.py. Houdini does not detect this changes. For apply the changes I need restart Houdini.
Does some function exist like reload or similarly?
Thanks and sorry for my english
