I cannot select any faces on objects. when I try to select faces the entire object gets hilighted, then I click again but the whole object is still hiligted.
Geometry select mode<Primitives then click on the cursor button “select s ” as i have been doing since i started Houdini, but i get the same results.
I closed and opened the file again, but it still didnt let me select faces. it is possible that i pressed somthing. my laptop dropped and when i caught it in the air i pressed a lot of buttons on my keyboard.
can someone help? i was doing pretty fine with my modeling until now.

i have a scene with a spaceship, rockets , a mountain grid object, and a uv texured sky. when im in perspective viewing, i can see all four. but when i look through the camera, i can only see my space ship and rockets and some of the grid object. when i play the scene through the camera, it seems like there is a wall blocking everything from being seen. the spaceship can be seen until it goes “through the wall” then it dissapears. the camera doesnt do that to my other scenes. can't see what the problem is, help? thanks.

i successfully installed Houdini but now when i try to start it up it gives me this error message:
Error: Houdini failed to start OpenGL and cannot continue
Please go to sidefx.com for a list of video cards.
i have a windows XP and i have downloaded the “ Windows 32-bit (VC8) ” version on Houdini 11.0.504.
i am a student and was told to download the program to my computer for class. so i don't have a license.
i need help fixing it. thank you
