Hello everyone!
I have an rbd simulation that works as I expect, if I save the cache with a filecache node it works without any problem.
Aterwards I tried using TOP nodes for running several wedges and this is where things stopped working; the wedge attribute updates fine and if I run the filecache node by itself it's able to save the simulation like I expect it to.
but when I run a ropfetch node it doesnt save the correct cache…all the variables like the wedge index and so on show just fine in the expressions but the actual saved cached file looks nothing like the one I did earlier with the filecache node itself.
Anybody have any idea what could be happening ?

Hello people,
I tried isntalling renderman 23.0 and using it in houdini 17.5 but I seem to get something wrong;
I can't get the renderman menu to show up in the tool bar and the preset browser is absent as well.
My env file looks like this:
RMANTREE=“C:\Program Files\Pixar\RenderManProServer-23.0”
RFHTREE=“C:\Program Files\Pixar\RenderManForHoudini-23.0”
HOUDINI_PATH=$RFHTREE\17.5.327;&
I can actually do renders by creating the nodes manually but I can't seem to get the menu or shelf with the ipr icon.
I would appreciate some help on this

If anybody is interested, I finally was able to fix it.
You have to go to the alembic geometry settings in the deepest node of the network and change the Load As to “Unpack Alembic Delayed Load Primitives”

Hello everyone!
Has anybody tried using renderman and custom geo imported into houdini?
for some reason only the imported stuff doesnt seem to work; geo that I created within houdini will render no problem using the same shaders.
The custom geo that imported does render in mantra though.
Im attaching screenshots of this different scenarios.
Are there any neccesary considerations for rendering alembic geo (or even obj imports) when using renderman in houdini?
If you have come across this issue do let me know,
Thanks
