If I'm understanding this correctly you can try doing one of either ways that I've done in the hip, this may not be the best way but I won't be able to try again until this saturday.
Basically by using a paint node you can paint the areas you want to stay the way they are (not raised) and then use that as a mask so it doesnt get affected.

Hey I have this particle scene but when I render the particles themselves they don't show? Not too sure exaclt why that is, any help appreciated.I have colour on them as I followed the applied particles 2 tutorial and tried to add it to this one however nothing shows.
I've attached the hip as well as the obj that im sourcing the particles to emit from.

Im trying to measure the distance from origin outward on an object so I can blend two colours onto it. So for example the middle is green but towards a certain point from expanding it blends into red.
I asked somewher else and was told this:
“So you could just calculate length(@P) for the distance of each point from origin
And then shape those values however you want, maybe normalize them and punch them through a color ramp
Or you could choose a point on your geo, pipe that into the edge transport node and calculate surface-distance from that point”
But I have no idea what this means or how to do it, I tried an edge transport node, not sure what to do with it after connecting it and selecting a point.
I just need a colour ramp so I can control at what point it starts changing colour. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Ok so I just re did it and it worked, a different problem I'm getting is if I select the collision mesh outside the DOP it thinks I want that object to be a FLIP???
I just select the flip mesh instead but I'm confused as to why it would switch the FLIP to a different object if I select it.

Hey I'm trying to do a little cereal animation however the FLIP which I used from the shelf just goes through the collision, the walls for my bowl which I made into a VDB has thickness, the collision in the DOP is volume as well. Any help appreciate thanks!

So I have this boat that comes out of the water, the water interacts with it fine but it doesn't stick at all, and doesn't stay inside the boat when it gets inside, quite frustrating as no matter the stick/normal/tangent value I put in it doesn't change how it reacts at all, any hope would be great thanks!

I'm trying to do a smoke trail effect where after around 4-5 seconds the end will slowly disappear instead of just suddenly being gone and so far I am unable to achieve the effect, I'm thinking it has something to do with @age and a color node?

Hey I'm trying to find a tutorial or find a way to do a smoke trail but I'm finding age old videos that are probably obsolete now, any help would be greatly appreciated.
