Vellum Hair Constraint Question

Hi,

I'm using vellum hair to simulate a rope being pulled tight

I'm pinning the ends and then using the Vellum constraint Rest Length Scale to 'tighten' it

Overall the look and timing are working, but I would like to have it tighten more rapidly from one end so it appears that it is being pulled from that side. Any ideas how to do this without actually moving the pinned points?

Thanks!

Check Vellum Rest Blend workflows, it might give you more artistic control.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I was thinking I could do something like multiply the rest length by a ramp or the curveu but I haven't been able to figure it out.

It's possible, but with Vellum Rest Blend you can animate the rope as geometry (scale down with soft transform for example) and it will update the rest lengths for you.

Sounds good, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the reply!
