Hi,

From typing “hscript myfile.hip” it churns out “Unknow Command: Imgview” and a couple of variations over and over. I opened up the .hip in a texteditor and most of the file are these Imgview commands and they look like they are repeating the same variables over and over. I removed any misc ops from COPS in the off chance. The scene seems to load after that though. I'm using hscript 5.5.36

Cheers

Hi Henster,

Any chance you can try the above with a newer 5.5 build? Does the problem still occur?

Also, did the hip file come from a newer build than 5.5.36?

Thanks!

The hip file is the same version as houdini. I was wondering, are cops supported by hscript? There is a flag “-u” to turn on the ultimatte cop in the docs. I don't suppose theres another flag that turns on the whole of cops is there? I noticed there was another program as well as hscript called hrender which is purely for rendering composites. I've got a bad feeling that when you run the gui version it interfaces the two together.(except its got no .exe extenion, prehaps not able to run independently on nt) hmmm..

has anyone else tried rendering a cop network throught hscript on NT?

Thanks for all replys

Cheers

Hi Henster,

I rendered a COPnet with both hscript and hrender without any problem.

I am using 5.5.305 and Win2000. Do you mind testing with the same build?

Cheers!

I installed 5.5.305 and now it renders. Thanks Steven, a couple of hours previous I was considering getting my fingers in the power outlet. I'm saved! Maybe this release will sort out a couple of my other crashing problems.

Cheers

It can't be that serious!?

I'm glad you're now saved though.

What other crashing problems are you having? Are they COPs related? Or something else?

Cheers!

Up until today I thought the majority of my crashes where caused by dense geometry intersecting itself. I'm not quite sure where I got this idea?
I use the pic() function a couple of times to get data out of a copnet. Today I removed these and the crashes stopped straight away.

Frequently if I try to switch from sops, rops, chops etc to cops I get a fatal error, sometimes it throws a segementation error in there as well. Segmentation errors I think are caused by trying to address memory that does not exist so I left it. Is this not normal?

Thanks for the help
Henster

p.s. 5.0.305 hasn't solved this one sadly
