Hi, all!
Strange problem.. It's so simple in Maya or Blender..
For example if I import human model from MakeHuman there are several continuity components (body, head, eyes etc.) in ONE geometry.
How can I select exactly one of these continuity components? (I mean to select all faces of the component.)
Thanks in advance.

You can use a delete SOP, a visibility SOP and or a group SOP, depending on what you want to do next. Houdini should recognize material or bodyparts from makehuman/poser etc. and put them in groups. Right click on the file SOP and then you should get a list of all the available groups.

I don't know what “continuity components” means, but I suppose you're talking about groups of polygons (groups of primitive in Houdini) and groups of points.
In the component selection menu you have the options to select Primitive Groups and Point Groups. You click a poly and the whole group is selected.

Well.. I've found it .
It can be done by ‘Select connected geometry’ option in the Geometry Select Mode options.
Thanks for replies.

I mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connected_component [en.wikipedia.org] I just didn't know correct english term for it.

In fact I tried it and it selects only separate faces (in my case).

This means there are no groups of primitives. If select connected works in you case, it means your geometry contains several meshes.
However, you can have one continuous mesh and on it you can define several groups of primitives on it (with the Group SOP for example).
You can then select those groups with the Primitive Groups option in the select menu.
