I installed houdini under linux 8.0, the ip address seems set correct, and the houdini server runs.
Then I use “source houdini_setup_hash” to setup environment. I can type
“hkey” to open application of lincense manager, when I click on “file” to manully set the license, it shut down hkey at once. why??

I assume by “linux 8” you mean Redhat 8? This smells like Metacity - the default window manager for v8 - you can't use it with Houdini. Check out this link over at odforce:

that talks about getting houdini to run on RH8…it will run fine, you just need to do a little fiddling. So far I've skipped both RH8 and 9 - too much interface hassle - although several Houdini users are using it out there.
